Let the great self-expression experiment begin!

Today sees the start of an important investigation.

I am writing a dissertation for Derby University for my final year university degree. My aim is to discover the extent to which internet blogs are a great form of self expression when “ranked” alongside other methods. This is in the subject area of Creative Writing. To do so I need to gather as much information and feedback as possible from bloggers about their blogs, blogging habits, topics raised etc.

If you think you can help me out, please do get in touch and I will e-mail you my questions. I endeavour to update everyone with some results once my project nears completion.

I did not answer because we have to be very careful and I personally think you are asking for too much personal information.
I think you should consult with your mentor/tutor about this research approach.

I agree with some of above, but would go further, and as you have not bothered to come back and inform or update any of us, or even acknowledge the detailed e-mail answer I gave you, I actually feel regert that I gave you my time. Which is why I am commenting here and not sending you a PM. When I was at UNI and took part in and facilitated any research I would ensure that I acknowledged people who took part, informed them what was happening and at what stage things were at.. and also informed them that their details would indeed be protected. You have done ? what exactly? in spite of having the facility ie this blog, to do so.

What it is that angers you so? Please don't judge me according to what you did or didn't do when you were at University. I can assure you that I have been collating the returned questionnaires together and analysing the reults together with conducting primary research (through direct 1-to-1 interviews) and tertiary research as well. All of which takes time and I am now writing up a first draft. I have discovered that blogs cover a multitude of sins and are flexile and diverse entities that can cover almost anything. Therefore pinning down what I'm going to say in my article and accompanying coursework has been the main issue for me. I know we live in an instantaneous, consumerist society where everything was wanted and needed yesterday and today is not good enough; but I urge patience from you in this case. Being upset with me will not solve anything.

Simple manners...I personally answered in great detail I might add with links to other blogs in a considered, friendly and helpful manner with a personal email. I am judging your lack of professionalism- which if you are indeed planning on being one some day- then learn a valuable lesson. Would be grateful if you would withdraw me from your survey, Thank you. I dont need to tell you why I am asking, I dont take kindly to being patronised and I would have thought that would be self evident, if you had bothered at aall to read any blogs mine or anyone elses. Good bye.
